Managing Principals and Investment Professionals
Aubrey J. Barth
Mr. Barth is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners. Prior to joining Lazard’s private equity investment group in 1998, he was in its investment banking division, which he joined in 1996, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, financings, and other major corporate transactions. Mr. Barth is a member of the board of directors of several companies. He received an A.B., cum laude, in Social Studies from Harvard College, where he was a Harvard College Scholar.
Jonathan H. Kagan
Mr. Kagan is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners. Previously, Mr. Kagan was a Managing Director of Corporate Partners I, which he joined in 1990, and of Centre Partners Management LLC, which managed the Centre Capital funds. He began his career in the investment banking division of Lazard in 1980 and became a General Partner in 1987. At Lazard, Mr. Kagan helped head the corporate finance and capital markets areas. He is or has been a member of the board of directors of a number of NYSE- and NASDAQ-listed companies and private companies. Mr. Kagan received an M.A. (1st Hon.) from Oxford University and an A.B., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Harvard College.
Ali E. Wambold
Mr. Wambold is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners and the Chief Executive Officer of Lazard Alternative Investments LLC. He joined Lazard in 1985 and became a General Partner in 1987. Since 1999, Mr. Wambold has been responsible for Lazard’s North American alternative investment activities. Prior to that, he was a senior investment banker in Lazard's New York and London offices. He was a founder, co-head and board member of Corporate Partners I. Before joining Lazard, Mr. Wambold was a Vice President of Lehman Brothers. He is or has been a member of the board of directors of a number of publicly and privately held companies in the United States and abroad. Mr. Wambold received an M.B.A. in Finance, Marketing and International Business from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma honors, and an A.B. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Paul J. Zepf
Mr. Zepf is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners. Previously, Mr. Zepf was a Managing Director of Corporate Partners I, which he joined in 1989, and of Centre Partners Management LLC, which managed the Centre Capital funds. He began his career with the Merchant Banking Department of Morgan Stanley & Co. in 1987. Mr. Zepf is or has been a member of the board of directors of a number of NYSE- and NASDAQ-listed and private companies. He received a B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Notre Dame.
Steven T. Brownlie
Mr. Brownlie is a Vice President of Corporate Partners. Prior to joining Corporate Partners in 2005, he was an investment professional of Golden Gate Capital and American Securities Capital Partners. He began his career in the mergers and acquisitions department of Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Brownlie has been a member of the board of directors of several private companies. He received a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and a Certificate in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University.
Abbas M. Hasan
Mr. Hasan is an Associate of Corporate Partners. Prior to joining Corporate Partners in 2006, he spent several years as a private equity professional with American Capital Strategies. Mr. Hasan received a B.S. in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and Joseph Wharton Scholar. He also received an M.B.A from Columbia Business School, graduating with Beta Gamma Sigma honors.
Robert M. Schmidt
Mr. Schmidt is an Associate of Corporate Partners. Prior to joining Corporate Partners in 2007, he worked as an Associate in equity research at Bear Stearns. He received an A.B. in Classics, Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude, from Princeton University.
