Overview
Lazard Real Estate Partners (LREP) and its affiliates have invested nearly $3 billion of equity capital in debt and equity investments since 1994. Investments have represented sponsorship positions in 15 operating companies, recapitalizations of single assets, portfolios and corporate interests.
In addition to providing capital, we have successfully repositioned public and private real estate companies to maximize shareholder value. We have been active with companies in all real estate sectors to restructure balance sheets, turn around operations and conceive and implement growth strategies.
Transactions executed by the current management team since 2000 total more than $10 billion comprising refinancings, restructurings, asset acquisitions/dispositions and corporate mergers and acquisitions. Recent investments have included acquisitions of companies and assets in the senior housing, extended-stay hotel and shopping center sectors.
Breadth and depth of real estate expertise differentiate our team and our investment history. This includes particular experience growing and/or restructuring real estate companies. Our capabilities encompass operations, finance/capital markets, transaction execution, workouts, legal issues, and management and board-level dynamics in complex situations.
